 | | Foundation 9 Entertainment has selected the name, Double Helix, for its Irvine, California studio. The studio, which is based in F9E’s new, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters, was formed by the combination of Shiny Entertainment and The Collective in late 2007. The formation of Double Helix has combined the existing studios’ proprietary technologies, production best practices and talented teams into a single entity that is now able to build upon its previous experience to gain new heights in quality and efficiency.

| Foundation 9 Entertainment has announced that James North-Hearn, previously Managing Director of Foundation 9 Europe, is assuming the CEO role at the company, the world’s largest independent developer of computer and video games. Former CEO Jon Goldman will serve as non-executive Chairman for six months. North-Hearn brings extensive experience as a top game industry executive to the role, including serving as head of publishing for Infogrames, running legendary UK publisher and developer Gremlin Interactive, and founding F9 studios, Sumo Digital and Sumo India.

| Foundation 9's Backbone Entertainment studios dominated the inaugural Xbox LIVE Arcade awards, with three of its Xbox LIVE® Arcade games sweeping six of the ten categories in the awards show, including top honor for Best Overall Arcade Game. F9E’s Backbone studios have collectively shipped more than 30 titles for the Xbox LIVE Arcade platform, with many more currently in development.

| Foundation 9 Entertainment has announced that it is putting in place new measures to consistently make games of the highest achievable standards at all of its studios, as well as adding a new level of service to its publishers. Dubbed the Total Quality Initiative, the plan is being spearheaded by F9E’s Chief Creative Officer, Richard Hare.

| Eidos has officially announced Monster Lab, a brand new original game from Backbone Vancouver. Coming out later this year on the Wii and DS, Monster Lab puts players in the role of an aspiring mad scientist, tasking them with building the ultimate monster and saving the world.
