Foundation 9 Entertainment has 11 proprietary development studios around the world. The company also holds a minority equity stake in Hollywood production and management company, Circle of Confusion.

Amaze Entertainment
Locations: Kirkland, WA; Austin, TX
Amaze Entertainment has developed nearly 100 titles since its founding in 1996. Its studios have developed handheld versions of games based on multiple big movie franchises, including Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Pirates of the Caribbean II, and Shrek. Amaze is currently hard at work at a slew of new titles for multiple platforms.

Backbone Entertainment
Locations: Emeryville, CA; Vancouver, BC
Formed from the merger of ImaginEngine and Digital Eclipse in 2003, Backbone’s studios develop licensed and original games on all platforms. Some of the studios’ recent titles include,
MechAssault: Phantom War , Age of Empires: The Age of Kings and Death, Jr. The studios are currently at work on a number of unannounced projects for multiple platforms.

Double Helix
Location: Irvine, CA
Specializing in large-scale action games based on blockbuster franchises, Double Helix develops for all major home console platforms and has worked with a variety of high-profile properties including Star Wars, The Matrix, Indiana Jones and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Double Helix Games was formed in 2007 from the combination of veteran game developers Shiny Entertainment and The Collective. With combined development experience totaling more than 20 years, the two studios have completely integrated into one of the largest and most experienced game makers in the world.

Sumo Digital

Locations: Sheffield, UK; Pune, India
Sumo Digital Ltd is an independent game development studio based in Sheffield, UK, currently employing over 100 experienced development staff, many of whom have been working together for the last 12 years. Sumo is licensed to develop on all the leading gaming platforms; Sony PSP, PS2 and PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Xbox and Nintendo Wii and DS. Sumo currently has several titles in production, including work on PS3, PS3 EDI, Xbox 360, PSP and Nintendo DS.

Pipeworks
Location: Eugene, OR
Founded in 1999, Pipeworks develops licensed games for current and next generation consoles, as well as low-level technology. Some of the studio’s recent projects include Rampage: Total Destruction and Prince of Persia: Revelations as well as the boot ROM for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console. The studio is currently at work on Godzilla: Unleashed for Wii.

ImaginEngine
Location: Boston, MA
Founded in 1994, ImaginEngine develops award-winning original and licensed educational and value software for all platforms. Some of the studios recent titles include
Playhouse Disney: Preschool Time Online and Dora the Explorer: Dance to the Rescue. The studios are currently at work on a number of unannounced projects.

Digital Eclipse
Digital Eclipse is Foundation 9 Entertainment’s proprietary brand for classic emulation products. The leader in this field, games developed under this brand include Joust, Smash TV and Gauntlet for Xbox Live Arcade and Midway Arcade Treasures. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for Xbox Live Arcade and PS3 downloadable, and other unannounced projects are currently in development under this brand.

Circle of Confusion
Locations: Culver City, CA; New York, NY
Founded in 1990, Circle of Confusion is a production and management company that represents screenwriters, comic book creators and videogame developers. Some of their notable clients include the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. Smith.)
